A LESSON IN PERSONAL POWER THROUGH PRESENT MOMENT AWARENESS

Share Post:

How often do you feel present in the moment throughout your day?

Come on. Be truthful.

If you find yourself predicting future events or dwelling on the past, you are not living in the present.

This is common. It’s part of being human.

But today, I am going to teach you how to release this tendency.

Throughout my career in public speaking, one of the most important themes I bring to my audiences is understanding the mindbody connection. You can have personal goals and use positive thinking, but if you don’t understand the mindbody connection to you why you do what you… you will find it challenging to break through to achieve your personal goals.

You can read personal development and self-help books. You can go to rallies and conventions to get motivated. But motivation will only get you so far. Motivation is like spray paint on rust. Eventually, it wears off.

So what’s the real secret to stepping into your personal power?

What is Mindfulness?

Part of my role as a life coach and success coach is to teach the skill of mindfulness. Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present. It’s an awareness of being in the now without being in a state of overwhelm.

It’s where you are able to notice what’s happening around you and you are able to notice what you are experiencing. You notice your senses. You’re aware of your emotions and your thoughts. The most important part of the mindfulness process is to release judgment.

Your role is to notice.

Mindfulness is so important because it’s what will assist you to recognize anxiety, obsessive thinking, over processing situations, and worrying. Too often people will stuff a feeling with food, drugs, alcohol, and pharmaceutical medication to avoid the present moment.

When you avoid the present moment, you are procrastinating on reaching your personal goals, facing your challenges, and releasing the past.

One of the biggest benefits of developing awareness through mindfulness is it can change the structure of your brain. The neurons that fire and wire together are no longer triggered. Through mindfulness, you gain new information in your process of positive change. You have the ability to take a step back and think about your thinking in order to create a new plan of action.

Meditation for Beginners

If you are new to the idea of mindfulness, it’s not as difficult as you may think. And to assist you with getting started, I have recorded a body scan mindfulness meditation. This will assist you to begin your practice as I give you verbal instructions throughout the recording.

Before you begin, find a quiet place to sit. Make sure there are no distractions. Give yourself 20 minutes for this practice. When you are comfortably seated, you can begin the recording.

Changing Your Law of Attraction

Many people drag the past into their present. This is what clouds their view of the future. It creates low self-esteem. It keeps people from ever gaining the confidence they desire.

And if you’ve decided to enter the world of free enterprise, you won’t be able to attract the people required for collaboration.

BUT… having a daily mindfulness practice is life changing.

It not only changes what you think and feel, but it changes your law of attraction.

Many of you success seekers are in the process of developing leadership skills. Part of leadership development is having a daily mindfulness practice. When you gain awareness through this continued practice, you can confront the limiting beliefs that keep you from breaking through.

This is where you can be honest with yourself without criticism. You’re able to confront yourself and you begin to take action daily. Through conscious awareness, your law of attraction shifts.

And as a leader, you begin to gain referent power.

This is your ability to influence your team. It’s where you gain affluence and loyalty because your team knows that you KNOW where you’re going. They want to follow you.

It all begins with a mindfulness practice.  And as a leader, you begin to teach this mindfulness practice to develop new leaders.

When you are able to duplicate the process, you are not only living in your own personal power, but you are changing the conscious of your team!
